Have 1990 Ford F350, gas 7,5l FI, unable to control throttle, will not return to idle after depressing pedal, appears that a spring is missing to return throttle back to idle, Ford dealer cannot find part. works fine after applying a return spring from pin on throttle linkage to engine. any help in finding proper repair would be appreciated.
The spring is coiled around the post under the linkage.. or at least that is where it's supposed to be, if yours is broken or missing then consider replacing the whole throttlebody.

Ford dealer cannot find part. Uh huh...
Look at the 9B569 spring in the pic, notice the black dot. Black dot at the bottom of the pic sez it was only furnished with the 9E926 assembly.
So, the dealer was looking for a part that was never available by itself. Ridiculous!
Pic from 1980/89 catalog showing 1988/89. Pic is the same in the 1990/2001 catalog, but I cannot post pics from this catalog because it's on microfiche.
