Autometer Guage Question!
Hi,
I bought a set of Auto meter Guages.
They have regular bulbs (not LED's)
I was looking for the best place to wire in the dimmer lights.
Some say the OEM dimmer light switch wire...
Others say run a switched 12V wire with an aftermarket dimmer unit???
Soldered in diodes?
Wondering how you guys hook these up??? Thanks!

I used an Add-A-Fuse and hooked into my instrument cluster fuse inside the fuse panel. It works with the factory dimmer.

Hi,
That would be fuse #4 in this schematic?
Or #10?

I used the #10 fuse slot.
And I just got an Add-A-Fuse that holds the same size fuses that these trucks use, (not those fuses that are like half the size). That way I don't need to have 2 buy two different size fuses all the time.

Hi,
Thanks this seems to be the way to go.
Are you guys having to use an independent pot switch or soldered diodes to get the right level of brightness on the gauges?????
