How did your shackle angle end up since you had to ratchet strap the springs in place?
Just about perfect. The springs flatten quite a bit with the weight of the truck on them, and the shackles returned almost perfectly to the stock location. I only had to ratchet strap them because there wasn't any weight, and they had a lot of arch when new.
Those Deaver rear leaves ride wonderfully. But the shocks are garbage. That's next on the list of upgrades. Want some remote reservoir shocks and I'm going to have to fabricate some taller frame mounts for them so I can run as long a shock as possible.
I am surprised they flattened that much from an empty short bed truck.
Glad it worked out.
I didnt' have to ratchet strap mine in place...and the shackle was very good...about 11 deg from vertical if i remember correctly.
They rode better with mileage...at $550 a set they are a no brainer compared to others on the market.
Unfortunately Jeff just quoted me $950 for a front set only based on the last set he made for me in 2010...so I passed....at $600 I'm a player...but not 50% more.

Youch, that's a lot of coin for a set of leaves. My coils ride nice though
Cool thanks for the info. Are you going to run a 4 or 5 pt belt? And if you are going to run a 4 pt see if you can get the shoulders and waist belts to be on inertia reels.
Makes for alot easier time getting your head out the window on a trail to spot yourself past a boulder.
Haven't decided fully on belts yet. Stock 3 point belts don't work very well because the lap belt isn't tight. I will likely install a good set of lap belts. Not sure about the full blown harnesses. The safety gurus on here will cringe but I doubt I'd ever use them anyways. A good lap belt with the OEM 3 point belt is probably what I'll end up with.
My new Bilstein 5160 reservoir shocks showed up over the weekend.....out of town this weekend but will get those on in the next couple weeks. That'll be the next update
