Looks great! Love the fact your bumper can accommodate your spare, thing looks like a monster on the back! Interested to see what your setup in the box looks like, and how you find the fridge for power draw. Is it only running on the second battery?
second battery is isolated and yes, the fridge power lead goes to the 2nd batt only, but that battery is still charging when the truck is running. It doesn't use a lot of juice. It's no problem to leave it run overnight. It's the biggest ARB (82 quart) that they make.
Thanks for the compliments, guys. Headed out on a 4 day expedition style run this weekend.....looking forward to it. She'll be loaded down good for this trip.
Yes, I went with 4.10s. Truck did OK on the run, but some issues did surface....
Idiots who installed rear wheels at Discount didn't torque the lugs properly and I lost a wheel on a dirt road....took out a couple wheel studs. Shame on me for not checking their work...I've never trusted them in the past and this is exactly why. A quick trip back to town got me some new wheel studs and I was back in business.
We did miles and miles of washboard and rough trails with bowling ball sized rocks. The shocks JBG sells with their lift kits are absolute garbage. Had I known that I would have bought the lift without shocks. I'm going to be saving pennies for a good set of remote reservoir shocks...either Kings or Bilsteins. I'll have to get new shock mounts fabbed so I can run a longer shock front and rear, so it'll be an expensive endeavor.
The truck has an aftermarket steering wheel. The washboard rattled all the bolts loose and I had to stop, pull the horn pad, and tighten those. I also had a few suspension bolts loosen despite the fact they were properly torqued.
So this weekend I'm getting under the truck with some wrenches and I'm checking every damn bolt on the truck.
My GF was having a hard time staying put on the bench seat, so I've ordered up a set of Corbeau Ultra wide suspension buckets and mounting brackets. Waiting for those to show up.
The truck hasn't been in 4wd a lot - it's amazingly capable in 2wd with the Detroit in the back and the granny gear. But I ran it in 4wd a lot this weekend and I have a leaking grease seal in the front diff. It's going back to the shop that installed for repairs next week. While they have it I'm going to have them reaseal my Tcase, as it's started seeping out the back, and I'm going to have them put in the shift fork pads because I can't have a conversation in the cab at highway speeds because the shifter is so freaking loud.
So, to sum up, I'm still shaking things down. I've got a week long expedition run in Early October. I want the new shocks by then, but at $300 apiece, that might have to wait a while, especially since I just dropped coin on seats, and those repairs won't be free.
On the plus side the truck climbs like a goat, rides decent until the shocks fade (which is actually pretty quick), and it ran well. Happy with that.
