There is a thread either here or in the 7.3 section the last few days where a member had water intrusion in his GEM and fuse box (leaking windshield seal). He did a step-by-step tutorial of how to disassemble and reassemble the GEM and fusebox with lots of PICTURES.
I was just reading that. Excellent work. Unfortunately with my work schedule, and the available times that the auto skills center is open, I'd never get around to doing that. On the other hand, if I bought another fuse box, I could mess around with it in my hobby shop during the weird hours. It would be interesting to do that but since I acknowledge that I'm lazy, I'm going to push for getting a new(er) one, lol.
One saving grace is that when I pulled the GEM module last weekend IOT get the part number, everything was dry and the connections are very clean. Of course there's more to it than just a visual inspection and that's what has me a bit worried.
I found you a fuse box (aka Central Junction Box). It was in a 2000 EX 5.4L V8. Part number on it is YC3T-14A067-BF 09/13/1999 build date. Any 2000-2001 should work for the CJB, as the wiring diagrams show them to be the same. They just don't use all the same fuse slots across the X, 250, 350, 450 etc. Here are some pics:
Hi, can you break down my part number because I'm having all kinds of trouble finding a GEM for my truck.
My part number is: 1C3T-14B205-DC. Any help with finding a compatible one would be a great help.
