Hey guys, so I have looked back at old threads and it appears that what I am asking for is a long stretch. I need a new windshield wiper switch. I am hoping that someone on here can point me in the right direction. I just rewired the whole Truck and this is the last missing part to making everything work. I will keep my fingers crossed!
Which do you need? Single-speed or two? You have the option of using a later, intermittent switch (with module) if you want that feature. I believe many other switches will work but I'm not sure which ones.
Eric
I need the 2 speed. Does anyone know what other switches will fit in the dash? I am not worried about wiring I can figure that out but I want it to look and work as it originally did.
What Year and Model is your truck? There was a variety of switches used, even 2 different switches used in 1966 depending on your Serial Number - the last 6 digits of your VIN number.
There was a switch for the 2 speed motor with separate wiper washer button (4 terminal)
There was a switch for the 2 speed motor with integrated wiper washer switch (7 terminal)
You could go to the later intermittent style switch with governor and still use your original **** and have it look very original.
If yours is a 1966 try to include the last 6 of your VIN.
1963 F250: I need the 2 speed. Does anyone know what other switches will fit in the dash? I am not worried about wiring I can figure that out but I want it to look and work as it originally did.

EDIT Disregard question, found the answer in another thread... I need a 2 speed motor.
So the only thing necessary to switch from single speed wipers to 2 speed is replace the switch? I already have the switch out so if I can upgrade now that would be awesome.

Reason: fouund the answer
I see your edit, but... I swapped a complete one-speed system in favour of a complete two-speed system (and added intermittent). My memory of the swap is a bit foggy but I recall that the lengths of the one-speed and two-speed arms might differ slightly. Left and right certainly differ so keep them organized.

Thanks for the post 6T6. I have the gauge cluster out and I'm going to be installing a NOS under dash wiring harness, so now's the time to upgrade the wipers while I have access. I would have never guessed the arms are different.
This site has been an incredible source of information and inspiration, but it would be nice if we had some of the common upgrades as "How to" stickies. I know a lot of folks ask the same questions and it's not always obvious which thread has the answer you're searching for.
