That's what I couldn't figure out either was the exterior color because it showed it wasn't available til 76 but it is the original tag according to all the other numbers.... Anyway of telling a trim package? My hood ornament has an explorer emblem that has like a blue and black globe background.
Will do I know it is the same on title but I will check on the hidden location tomorrow... Is that on the left from rail on top under the door? Also wat has me stumped is the exterior color code and how everything else on tag shows 75. The seats inside match up with the interior color code,as does the tranny and rear end.... The front was replaced with a lockout hub system and the motor was swapped about 8 years ago for a 390... I bought the truck from a buddies dad and he changed the front axel as well as the motor but to me that made the truck better.... I guess mainly I was trying to figure out a trim package that may have been on it because at one time it got painted white and alot of the trim is missing. Thanks
Whether it's the original warranty plate or not doesn't change the fact that, at least the plate came off of a 1975 model year with a "4" exterior paint color.
The truck has obviously been repainted. I would remove something that wouldn't have been painted or maybe look under the floor pad and see what the original color looked like.
Bill, this is a relatively late '75 model. Any possibility that Ford started using this color before the '76 model year started?
Or maybe the catalog has a typo and it actually started being used in '75?
