MyFord Touch screen on '13/'14 reliable or have issues?

I like the idea of a bigger view of the backup camera instead of the tiny view in the rear-view mirror of like the 2012 but reading the capacitive touch controls can be sluggish and tough to operate while driving...lots of text etc.

Are people with the 8" screen wishing for old fashioned buttons or loving it?

Maybe the rear view mirror screen is practical enough ??

Can you always see the hitch ball in the camera in either version when backing up?

I understand they brought more buttons back in the 2015 because of complaints.

The 8" screen in my '13 is fine if you have understanding and patience. It's not snappy like a new iPhone 7, but it's not slow like a desktop running Windows XP. In short, I've been happy with mine in the last 3 years.

And yes, you can see the hitch in the camera view.

You're welcome. And in regard to the return of buttons in '15...it's my understanding that the seat heat & cool functions are now replicated with physical buttons, whereas previously (as with my'13) they are touchscreen only.

I like the bigger screen vs the mirror much better. For the most part things work well. I just had my APIM replaced last month on my truck.

Right - seems like bigger would be better...esp better than tiny.
There is quite the price jump between '12s and '13's though (at least the ones i want). Just wondering if the added electro stuff in the '13 make it worth it.

Did you do a touch screen swap for the original radio/cluster? I'm contemplating this but don't know what compatibility issues there are.
