Cam Question

Thanks, Doug!
Sounds about what I want to do, even the 3" single exhaust. I'd like to try that Offenhauser dual port intake from the PAW catalog and a 750 cfm Edelbrock. Anyone have any experience with that Offy intake?

Hey I have not been able to get to the computer since I finished the cam installation.

I definetly woke up my 460 and it went from getting 8 mpg to about 10-11mpg. I was already fun to drive and it just made it that much funner.

The bads news is this all happened in August, about two weeks after the cam installation I was running down the hiway at about 60 mph. The engine clunked a couple of times and immediatley locked up. Antifreze came out of the carb and the exhaust pipes. I haven't had a chance to pull the motor apart yet, but there was a piece of the piston stuck in the spark plug. So I am guessing the top ring land of my KB piston broke off, which is kind of ironic cause I was just discussing with somebody on this board about the KB pistons in BBF's breaking and saying I had not had any problems then a week later my breaks.

Pretty funny huh??????

I've been the one on this board saying KB's in BBF's are bad news. My machinist has seen several of those pull off the top ring land. He was saying you have to have the ring gap "exactly right". I didn't ask him what that was, since I went with forged.
