Winnipeg is a real friendly city...not! Here it's just a parking ticket John, it isn`t too bad if you pay it with in 48 hrs.
Good to plan ahead Perry, no use doing it twice.
What do you impound vehicles for? We did impounds for unpaid parking violations.
.
Morris for us it is mostly unpiad tickets issued by my department for parking violations. mainly expired parking meters, no parking zones, tow away zones, fire lanes. Baltimore City will tow for rush hour parking restrictions around the campus on the city owned streets. and any other violation they do see on city streets.
Happy hump day John, Shaun, Steve, Grant, Perry and all who lurk here.
How many parking violations, expired parking meters, no parking zones, tow away zones, other violations before a vehicle gets towed away Shaun? And does Baltimore City do the campus tow aways or is it up to the campus admin?
A vehicle can be towed just because the are in the no parking zone, fire lane or tow away zone. As for expired meters they can be towed for that with as little as 1 ticket. We usually will go put them on the hot list after 4 tickets. They can be towed anny time they are in violation. The city does not come onto campus to tow. We use a private company.
For the most part the city doesnt tow unless the vehicle is abandoned, or it was found to be stolen. As for parking tickets they will issue as needed. The biggest places they will tow from are the main roads in and out of the city during rush hour parking restrictions. So during certain times of the day parking is restricted on one side of the street. So in the morning there would be no parking in on say teh south bound side of a street between the hours of 0600 and 0900 because of rush hour. Any vehicle parked there will be ticketd ( a 52 dollar ticket.) and then towed. The city charges a fair bit if they tow a vehicle to the impound lot. They charge 140 dollars for the tow, 52 dollars for the ticket, an initial storage fee of 50 dollars, and a 40 dollar administrative fee. That comes out to 282 dollars. And if the vehicle is there longer then 48 hours they charge an additional 15 dollars a day for storage after the first 48 hours.
They`re not fooling around, that should get the point across real well.
My lunch is over, time got get back to more yard clean up. Rain and snow is on the way starting tomorrow.
One would hope Morris. We have had some that we have towed several times and they just go and pay to get their car back or the city tows them numerous times.
