We always bought them at the hardware store in a pouch ...
Yeah,,,,should have seen the look on the face of the guy at the hardware store when we asked for enough seed to do 20 acres....lol
Actually we are hand planting little carrots that are about 4-6 inches long....people sit on the planter with a big bin of carrots in front of them. Machine makes a goove in the soil about 6 inches deep and they put the carrots in the grooves with the green tops sticking out of the ground ......about 6 inches apart

I guess I'll ask another silly question but how do you tell the difference between the male and female, is there a color difference or something...?
Good afternoon / evening Oregon and everyone everywhere else.
I got home from Salem and the State Capital about 45 minutes ago now. I feel icky all over and have taken two showers now and can't get rid of the smell...I wasn't careful enough and I came within a foot of Prozanski, Williamson and the Goobernore. I may have been contaminated for life! (Just joking?)
Definitely need a nap. Been up and running since 0500. I got to visit with a lot of State Troopers from the "old days". Some retired and moonlighting during the legislative session and other too silly to know when to retire.
Still trying to figure out what went on. They definitely had a cram and jam setup for these bills. The die was cast for them to pass out of committee and then something happened, someone screwed up. I think they are trying to blame a staff member, but Prozanski is the Chairman of the committee and is guiding this legislation.
I'm still researching it and haven't gotten a definitive answer yet. I was upstairs in a meeting with some other gun folks from around the state and including the NRA - ILA State Liaison, Keely Hopkins and the NRA Grassroots Field Coordinator Benjamin Carpenter. There was also an NRA contract lobbyist and another pro-gun lobbyist that works Oregon and Washington.
Anyway word came to us during the meeting that Prozanski had screwed up some how and killed the anti-gun bills we had testified on today. Still trying to figure out what all of the hullaballoo is about, but after reviewing the video of the hearings in the Senate Judiciary on the Legislative Web Site, OLIS, I think it may have been that he failed to have a work session and motions to add the amendments and / or just failed to have a motion, the motion seconded and then passed in regards to moving the bills out of committee by the end of the day today. At any rate they appear to be dead for right now. At least until they can figure out if there is a way to get around the procedural error and revive them or attach them as riders to other bills that were moved.
Right now OLIS is blank on the bills upcoming scheduled events.
Good evening Ford Fans.
Today started out craptastic, had a gallon of paint hit the floor and splash all over me. Had to step outside and hose off my pants and boots, then stop at home and change.
