Well our big dog, Moose, who was in that picture I posted yesterday, got a hold of an entire bone-in porkchop that didn't get put away fast enough after dinner. I sure hope a vet visit isn't necessary...
51 degrees today....supposed to be about the same tomorrow. All the snow is gone, except for the remnants of the big piles I piled up plowing things out. Now I see some little green weeds coming up. Hopefully they will freeze.
I'm going to take the granddaughter out to dinner for Valentines Day. Wife is working, so she misses out.
Good evening Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Spent most of the afternoon running all over the NW part of the state. I was at 3 different boat repair shops, including my mechanic. General conscientious seems to be unanimous. Seabiscuit (the boat) should be put out to pasture.
Also stopped at the pellet stove store in McMinnville to see if they could give me some clues on removing the auger motor from the stove. They were of no help, don't carry our brand, but were more than willing to sell me a new stove or send a repairman out for an "in home service call" $$$$$.
Terry, my boat mechanic, had been looking around for some boats for us to look at. We had picked out two of the same boats from Craig's List and another specific boat only site. I showed him one that the Warden and I had found. As long as it is mechanically sound, he thinks it would be a great deal. Terry says it has at least $2000 worth of canvas on it, which is about what I figured. Fellow has another boat and his wife is on him to get rid of the "small" one.
Going to go look at it tomorrow. Also the rest of the Elk is ready so I have to pick it up as well.
Guess we'll know tomorrow afternoon if this becomes the Seabiscuit IV.
Two of the best days I remember when I lived in NC were the day I bought my boat and the day I sold it! It was a early 60's Grady White, red/white two tone. Beautiful boat! I could never get the old Mercury 2 stroke running right, though.
Very similar to this:
Sometime I'd like to pick up a decent drift boat with a small outboard, though.
That's a very nice looking Runabout Evan. Would have been worth repowering that one.
Good morning Oregon, and others! 38 at the compound but still had ice on the windows. Another year or so and I wont worry about that since the daughter should be moved out then. That means I get my covered parking space back. Sad thing is I have a double car garage, three garage door barn/shop and a carport for two vehicles and my truck is still out in the weather. Too many vehicles and toys!
Another great day here again......mid 50's......chances of rain tomorrow, the weather guessers say.
I took the granddaughter out to Valentines dinner......she enjoyed , but at 14, I don't know how much longer she will be wanting to hang with grandpa. I'm enjoying while I can...
Belated good evening Oregon and everyone everywhere else. A 250 mile very full day with a brief time out around 1730 for a valentines dinner.
The boat I posted pictures of yesterday, attached itself to the back bumper of the pickup and followed us part way home. It's now at the doctor getting a physical and check up.
Our boat mechanic, who is paid to be much smarter than I am, is going to go through the motor and out drive to make sure everything is in as good of order as it seemed to be and as we were told it was.
Time for 10-7 to the horizontal position.
