Below is a picture of the frame rail connection with the new ground coming off of it leading toward the block:
Here is the mountning location on the block, or the head. It's not the same one Jack used but the 10mm bolt worked. It was very easy to access from above and the stator wasn't in the way at all.
And the rest of the cables. I have some mesh sleeving coming to protect the cables. The cables from the link that diesel-dan posted came with the epoxied heat shrink and were excellent quality also. Got the cables and the fuse all there and free shipping priority mail.
Glad to hear you got it done. I'm not sure how you can get that lower cable in without pulling everything jdw1 posted. I've sneaked by leaving the CAC tube in once, but I preferred a straight shot.
Where did you get your cables from? The reason I'm asking is I got a premade cable from a local marine source and its stated size lugs were tighter then the lugs I got from an on-line vendor, so there could be some variation depending on lug source. I should have checked out that possibility.
I used the same location as akblackfoot as well. The way the fuel lines are in my truck I was unable to access the location Jack used, they passed right over that hole. The bolt is the same size
Whatever you guys have available will be fine. With the changes in the vehicles I probably should have pointed to something under the motor that had better accessibility. Where I went was easy for me at the time. I'll do that for the Full Metal Jacket version of cables. If I ever get to that point.
I got my cables and fuse block here http://www.genuinedealz.com/marine-electrical-supply?cat=23 They were excellent quality with epoxied heat shrink and shipped the next day.
My bolt securing the ground to frame rail wouldn't fit through the 3/8 end either so I don't think it's a matter of lug size difference but a different size bolt. My truck is a 2006.
Many many many thanks to TooManyToys and everybody else that had input.

Thanks for posting the photos, they really helped me visualize and see where I was going when I installed mine yesterday. For anyone else the bolt I used was an M10x1.50x20mm using the same location as you. And thank you to TooManyToys for all you do
