6.4 power stroke driver side battery tray

On the bottom side of the battery tray there is a vacuum hose attached to it, anyone know what this vacuum is for? And, there is another open connector about 3" next to it on the bottom side of the driver battery tray with nothing attached, anyone know what this connection is for?

I just bought my first diesel truck about a year ago, its an 08 F-250 6.4L 4x4. The mileage is pushing 110,000 and the engine sounds awesome. But, it rides like a bull. Can anyone point me in the right direction on what i need to do first to make it ride better? I need some advice from the counsel of wisdom.

IIRC, the line is a drain for the box and the connection your referring to (electrical) could be from the upfitter switches or if you don't have factory fogs.

Mine has fogs and I don't remember anything not connected under there.

If you can snap a pic, I'll pull mine back apart to verify.

Here to help.

The small line goes to the tree that splits to the vacuum pump and 4x4 solenoid. The other bigger connection on the vacuum reservoir goes the hvac? What happens if the second hose isn't there?
