The answer to your question is you have to open the drivers door first, and only once that door is opened will all of the doors auto unlock. It is the only way ford allows it to work. Someone somewhere decided this was a good idea There is no setting that will allow the doors to unlock just by placing it in park and no driver door opening. One of the few things I miss about my chevy.

I have auto unlock in my Hyundai and I hate it because I don't feel safe with the doors unlocking before I am ready to get out. I like to give my environment one last scan before unlocking the doors and getting out.

thanks, that is what i thought.
kind of a PITA, especially since I am used to my GMC unlocking all doors when I put it in park
Auto-lock and auto-unlock are features easily enabled or disabled on the dash.
yep, but that doesn’t unlock all the doors when the truck is in park.
all the doors only unlock if the driver door is opened or the unlock button is pushed

I think disabling will also prevent the car from locking all doors automatically, too. So you unlock the car with remote, get in and drive away, doors remain unlocked. When you park and shut down the car, it is still unlocked.
But there is no way to do it in the manner you would like - just one car maker's mentality vs another. There are times I'd prefer the GM method as well. Either front door will open by pulling the door handle even when doors are locked, but the rear doors do not. Ford has placed the rear lock buttons in a hard to reach place at the rear of the door...so if you have rear passengers, they have to twist to unlock the door and get out, unless you shut the car off and open your door first.
Simple fix would be a program setting - Ford way or GM way - and let the customer decide how "safe" they need to be.
