If this is simply a truck front brake issue and you are towing heavy, can you adjust the initial output of your controller to throw more power to the fiver brakes?
When I hook and before raising the trailer legs all the way up I always apply the brake controller to be sure that the 5th wheel jaws are actually locked and the trailer brakes always lock up. But i did notice that when pulling away and trying the brake controller it barely locks them up. I guess I learned something new today about the truck braking system.
I also do that before removing the wheel chocks and raising the front legs. Seen too many dented bed sides lately.

Just another selling point for the Andersen Ultimate that I liked. The Earth would have to flip upside down in order for the trailer to fall off the ball of the hitch.
For people like my wife and I who were travel trailer people for a while and now moved up to a 5th wheel, the Andersen hitch makes it simple to hook up and go.

Some of the people I've seen in the campgrounds could screw up a steel ball with a rubber hammer.
Oh I'm never embarrassed because of something I don't know. I'm embarrassed about this because I've known this for some time and have even dealt with it once before. Just part of ageing. I'm pretty close to being able to hide my own Easter eggs, maybe next year.
LMAO, I think I hid my own last year, or was it the year before.
