I ran into this as well. After I hooked up my trailer for the first time, and entered it's name, length etc into the truck, it never acknowledged when I disconnected it. I had to delete the trailer profile from the truck to get it to start up at any other screen. The truck was still counting miles on the trailer until I deleted it as well.
Thanks, I never checked that. I figured it would do that itself when I unhooked the electrical cord to the trailer.
I would imagine it does it this way so you don't "accidentally" forget to deselect the active trailer and it keeps adding miles you don't know about. It sort of "forces" you to deselect it, or it annoys you with the trailer screen. Just a guess....
Well that's some Ford magic right there....."An active trailer still accumulates miles even after you physically disconnect it from your vehicle" Will they pay for new tires on my "imaginary" trailer when I'm ready to replace???

Great question! In all honesty, this "feature" could also be there for trailers that don't have connections. I imagine like a small lawn trailer or 4-wheeler trailer. Although it would be pretty funny to see such a small trailer behind a F-250.
