Start up screen

In reference to the screen between the tach and speedometer on a 2017 F350 Platinum:
I prefer to keep it on the fuel economy display most of the time. At first after I put it there, it stayed there through shutdown and restart, just like my F150 used to do, and just as expected.
Then I set up my trailer and towed for the first time. Since then, even when the trailer is not connected and I'm not towing, the system defaults to the towing information screen at start up. I change it to the fuel economy screen, but every time I shut down and start back up, it reverts to the towing information screen despite the fact that there is no trailer connected.

In the F150, it defaulted to the towing information screen when a trailer was connected, but it allowed me to stay on the fuel economy screen when I was not towing. This seems like the logical way to design the system.
I would prefer to see the system start up on the screen which was displayed when it was shut down. If that's not possible I'd prefer to be able to specify which screen should be displayed at start up.
Is there a settings page I need to adjust, or is this a bug in the software?
Thanks
Bill

Bill, a few others have found it does this because it still "thinks" you're connected to your trailer. You have to go into the trailer setup screen and select "No Trailer Connected" or something similar for it to go back to defaulting to where you want it to.

No Active Trailer

That did the trick. Went to Towing, Trailer Setup, selected 'No Active Trailer'

I wonder if that will be necessary every time I tow. Should I have setup the trailer under 'default trailer' instead of naming it? Will it automatically detect the trailer and the absence of the trailer from now on?

Thanks again.

There have been a few threads on this topic, it seems to be a bug somewhere that doesn't effect all trucks the same. It is supposed to know when you remove your trailer, but sometimes it doesn't. I think in the other thread they are still gathering data to determine what/why it's sometimes doing it or not.

Some trucks have to select NO ACTIVE TRAILER and some select it automatically when you disconnect. I have to select it on mine or it will continue to add miles and say trailer is disconnected.

Mine auto-selects No Active Trailer and works the way everyone expects it should. It is weird and I'd be happy to check my truck side-by-side against another truck that has to manually disconnect to see if we can figure it out. I feel for you guys. That's the kind of thing that would really bug me.

Epic, are you running Sync 3 v2.2??, because it seems that people with v2.0 are having this problem and I haven't seen anyone with v2.2 complain of it.

I haven't upgraded Sync yet. Still v2.0. Interesting idea but I would be super surprised if Sync could be connected to the trailer disconnect issue.

The XLT I rented defaulted to the towing screen every time! I selected "No Active Trailer" at least a half dozen times, but nevertheless, there it was each time I started the truck.

My 2011 F-150 knew when a trailer was connected and when a trailer was not connected. This is an annoying feature, if one wants to call it that. I will be looking to upgrade Sync as soon as I can to see it the trailer screen can be fixed. Thanks for all the answers!

You think that's something! Yesterday I pushed the Lane Departure button and the radio came on. I wasn't sure that I didn't accidentally push the radio power button so I pushed the lane departure button again and the radio came on. After that everything went back to working it it should.
