2004 f350. Icp was changed (eBay part) ran for a few hours then quit. Change HPOP still crank no start FICUM seems ok. Any suggestions we have become desperate for answers.
What pressure is it building to? Assuming you have a live data reading device to see that info....
There is air in the system, it does take some cranking to get it removed. Keep the batteries charged, rest the starter so it doesn't over heat and it takes about 5 tries of about 20 seconds to clear the air for a start after an HPOP change.
have the stand pipes and dummy plugs been replaced with the updated ones? regardless like Watson said, you really need something to read live data. I use auto enginuity, torque pro on my phone, and just recently been messing around with forscan which i have been so far very impressed with. its a free download on a laptop from their website and all you need to get yourself is an elm327 bluetooth adapter.
you could also try starting it with the icp disconnected to rule out the sensor itself.
before the HPOP was changed out, did you try starting with the ICP unplugged? I am not a big fan of ebay parts for our trucks.
Is your 04 an early or late 04 (where is the ICP located)?
+3 on getting a scan tool of some sort ..... more specific information is needed to help.
Also, I am curious as to what you mean by the FICM seems OK. Did you test it? Have you swapped FICMs from a truck that starts? Often times FICMs can test good, but still be bad.

Got a hold of a scan tool it's throwing code for icp. IPR on back of motor had bare wires. Got a new pigtail for it. We unplugged icp no start. Should I just replace ICP?

its getting fuel fuel and oil. If you spray eather it will start and run for a min. Code is reading ICP but won't start if you unplug it.
I need some improvement on my reading skills! I thought the OP posted the P2280 code (that is an air flow restriction code), my mistake after re-reading.
Not sure why April didn't post the code number, we sure need it as Benny and Randy have posted! We also need the ICP pressure data as well. This is all so difficult without information.
If the engine will start and run with ether for a bit, it obviously is getting enough air for that and the ICP would seem to be exceeding the 500 psi minimum.
No indication at this point that the ICP is bad IMO. The truck should start with the ICP unplugged if there is no other issue than a bad ICP sensor, so you have something more going on.
I would STILL seriously rule out the FICM before anything else (and that means trying a known good one IMO). If it runs on ether and then dies, that points more to "no fuel" to me. Not sure why you say you are sure it is getting oil and fuel. What are you basing that on?
