2011 6.7 tuner identification

Bought it a couple weeks ago not knowing it had been tuned. Bought it at a dealer, they even said it was stock, which I already knew it wasn't. Just didn't know about the tuner til I took it to ford to program a key. They are locked out,I don't know what kind of tuner I have and can't get access to pcm. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks all in advance

take it back to where you bought it, they need to put a new pcm and factory exhaust system.

If it was a ford dealer, they know better.

Did you get a tuner with the truck? Is the DPF/SCR & EGR deleted on it?

Depending on where you are they may or may not be allowed to sell a deleted truck. Generally the laws don't permit them to.

I did not get the tuner with the truck and I think the egr is deleted through the tune but can't prove it withoutwithout the tuner. I was also wondering if they could sell a non emissions compliant vehicle. No catalytic converter but no egr delete kit installed

And herein lies the problem. the prior owner removed the tuning device, when he sold/traded-in the vehicle. It probably went to auction, and that's how your used car dealer got it. I feel for you, but I don't know what to tell you. If you are only trying to get another key added, you might be able to do it using the Forscan app mentioned on this website.

As for long-term, you got a situation on your hands that is only going to cost you a bundle of cash. You either will be paying to replace the PCM and removed emissions parts at a time of your choosing, or roll the dice and drive it as-is, and hope you don't have any problems that would require dealer service that is now blocked, and paying then, or hope for no problems at all. The latter not likely, as Ford(or any dealer), have to be able to reprogram the PCM for many things.

Not trying to beat you up, but is just a good reminder to anyone when buying used to know what you are getting before signing on the dotted line...

If the DPF unit is still there then it's not deleted, the EGR could still be in place but unplugged but with the DPF still in place that wouldn't be the case. If it was tuned for performance and you don't have the tuner then you'll need to get the dealer to reflash the computer.

I would think that if you wanted to keep it deleted, assuming it already is, you could buy a new tuner, make sure it has delete tunes. Then take it in, get your dealers to flash the stock tuning back on, program the key, but do not start it if your missing the emission equip as this will cause all sorts of codes. Then once you have your key programmed, flash the delete tune from the new tuner on it. Just make sure the tuner your using is all good too go as you would be stranded if you flash back to stock and the new tuner isn't actually delete capable. I would talk to the shop you buy from but I would think you could even flash and try the new tunes before taking it in. Sucks that you didn't get the tuner with it as it would be allot easier.
