I have an intermittent problem starting my 2002 F150 5.4. This seems to be happening now that it is cold. When the key is turned the starter does not spin. Everything else seems normal. Lights and everything work as they should. The strange thing is that after numerous times turning the key the starter will spin and start the truck. Usually 10-12 tries before the starter kicks on. Has anyone else experienced this or have an idea of what might cause this?

Thanks!
check connections at starter and battery, look for corrosion or just loose connections.
could just be a bad starter too
could be something like the starter relay on the firewall also... battery goes to relay, relay goes to the starter motor..You need to check voltage into the relay, out of relay and into starter, when it WONT CRANK.. If there is no power out of relay, possibly the relay is bad.. power to starter but it wont crank = bad starter........... this assumes you have a good signal voltage from the key, thru the neutral start switch, to the starter relay coil.
I had this problem on my 2002.. it was the steel jumper on the starter between the two poles on it that had rusted away.. First time I was able to solder a patch on it,, after a few years there was nothing left to it so replaced the starter..
