High idle?

Not sure if this is normal or not or if I am not doing something wrong. The only time my high idle kicks in is when I use the auto start. If I start with the key the truck just idles normal. The temps are cold, 20 degrees or less. This is on a 2015. Any Ideas?

Have you hooked up your high idle to your upfitters or put a potentiometer on it?

Think he is referring to a normal start since the SEIC does not work with remote start.

Have you checked your diesel supplement manual? It might give you additional info on the high idle conditions for occurrences.

If you don't have a copy, a copy can be downloaded here...

Is this just based on the sound of the engine as the rpm gauge won't be functional during remote start? From some testing I did when my truck was new I recorded 950 rpm with 18 degree ambient temps, 950 at 12 and 1200 at 5. This data and more is available in the rapid heat link in my signature. I also tested the difference in engine temp when using the block heater.

Thanks for the help. I'll check out the manual.
