I have a 2004 ford f250 6.0L. Here's the thing my truck has this shaking when im at a stop or on parked with the engine on. It feels like studdering and sommetines it will stop and sometimes it will just be constant. It also begins to vibrate aggresively on the freeway when i hit about 51 or 52 mph and you can feel it like if it were going over ridges. But if you go pass the 51 or 52 mph it stops until you hit 51 or 52 mph. I live in houston, tx and it was cold on friday and when i started it, it sounded like the starter was making that noise when its bad. But i just had it changed about 2 months ago. I'm thinking the cold weather had to do something with that. I also thought it could be a ln injector misfiring but im sure i would see smoke come out the tail pipe but nothing. Will glow plugs cause the shaking and vibration? I see no smoke coming out the tail pipe.
Do a bubble test. If you have an injector pintle not sealing it can allow combustion gases to enter the fuel system and cause a miss. You won't get smoke because there's no introduction of fuel.
First remove the secondary fuel filter. Be sure there is fuel in the bowl.
Next use the starter trigger wire to the battery to crank the engine ( Leave the key off)
While cranking watch for bubbles coming up in the fuel. If there is air then there is a bad injector.
Report back.
