I did have some play time over Thanksgiving and headed to the salvage yard for some therapy... I did that because turkey day dinner was at my cousin's house nearby and I just couldn't pass up 50 percent off anything and everything at the yard. Here was the result of day: Salvage Yard Therapy
I'm about 35 miles outside SF. The SF house was built in 1926 and still retains much of its details and "bones" from that era. Among other things I had the kitchen and bathroom rebuilt/remodeled from the studs up; a 200-amp panel and new wiring; asbestos abatement and a new Carrier furnace and ducts; removed all the wallpaper from plaster walls; de-constructed, demo'ed, insulated, re-drywalled, textured, and reinstalled the original trim; ripped out all the carpet, padding, and about a kazillion staples; painted almost every square inch; restored the glass *****, hinges, and brass escutcheons. I've got one one more bathroom to remodel, some electrical work, build a fence, and finally - cleaning up the back yard which I have attempted to keep at bay with RoundUp. The tally thus far is over $100K... that may sound like alot of moolah but it is still less than 10 percent of the property value. SF real estate is nuts.
Usually one day of the weekend is spent on my domestic duties and personal business. Somewhat of a "bright side' of having no social/wrenching life is that I don't spend much "fun" money... the last actual wrenching I had to do was replace one of the fuel pumps in the 01 Spider.
After I escape from the claws of the SF house, wrench time on the board includes...:

Winter time sucks... it's cold in the morning and dark by the time I get off of work. I'll be glad when we get passed the winter solstice (December 21, 2016)... that means we start to get daylight back... about one minute per day.
I hope you all are having more fun than me....
. Second time they need replacing. I'm coping with Bursitis in both elbows right now trying to figure out how I'm gonna pull my front end apart to replace the them. Oh well at least I have a garage to get my truck in. I may have to have my daughters boy friend help me. The problem with young know-it-alls is the amount of time it take to fix everything they know how to fix
