How is everyone,s winter going?

HIO Silver yea i was born and raised in Orange County in So-Cal.but now i live in North Central Arkansas. i do not miss the freeway traffic the high priced gas. i lived 7 miles from Huntington Beach.but when Christmas comes around you expect the temp. to reflect what the calender says. it,s not supposed to be 85 and sunny. that,s why when people watch the rose parade they see the perfect weather they move out there and never leave. but even though that i live in Ark. California will always be my home.

Yesterday in south Arkansas, temps were in the 40s. Today, it's warm and muggy and in the mid-70s. By tomorrow night, temps are supposed to drop down to 19° and a wintery mix of sleet and snow is expected.

If you don't like the weather in Arkansas, just wait until tomorrow. You might get what you want.

Yesterday 12/16/16 6:45 am temp -6 deg. F. On my way to work saw the temp drop to -10 . By noon it to a blistering 8 deg F. Now today off to work in the snow. At present time 1:15 pm snow is letting up. Total accumulation of about 10". Plowed my parking lot twice with my 2005 f150. Now my pop is using the backhoe with the large 10' attachment to clean up yet again. I will have to go clear a buddy of mines house out on my way home, then play shuffle with my vehicles to clean my place up. Tomorrow they are predicting 40F and rain. Wish it would make up its mind already. I guess that's why they call it weather and mother nature

It proves that climate change does exist. It happens at least four times a year --winter, spring, summer and fall.

Temperature was -26 about 20 minutes ago here, also was unfortunately involved in a serious incident with police earlier this week that resulted in a "stand off" (I was in a vehicle that got called in for having a weapon with suicidal driver on school grounds) although was untrue, I ended up having 18 police squad cars and 3 different agencies pointing guns at me. This week has been fun.

Keeping it truck related now, she sure does not like this weather for starting up after sitting more than an hour (even though leaving it off for 45 minutes was still a slight chore to start after I went to help a friend fix his toyota

When I lived in Fairbanks, Most of the grocey stores had elec outlets mounted on poles in the parking lots so that you could keep your car block heater plugged in. They have a pretty good smog layer during temp inversions. Using the block heaters is encouraged so that engine warm up times are cut way down.

Plus I have heard those using thinner engine oil and battery blankets. And maybe Drygas for good measures.

When I worked on snow throwers up there it was required to put synthetic oil in them. Regular oil was so thick at start-up it was found to actually stretch the connecting rods. which didn't end well. Tecumseh only paid for that mistake (not printing it in the owners manual) for 1 year, under warranty. Kept me busy fixing them.

Wow! It's hard for a south MS boy like me to imagine cold like that... If it gets down to 10 or 20 here it's mighty cold to us! I can run 20-50 in my truck all year round.
