Using key triggers alarm

Jut an FYI I used my key to unlock my truck today instead of the button. Once the door opened the truck chimed at me and began a countdown that said start the truck or the alarm would sound in 10 seconds. Not sure if I like this.

in the past 11 years of owning vehicles with keyless entry i have opened the door with an actual key 0 times. Not once. Maybe I'm in the minority but i doubt it.

Really there never has been a car security system that disarms itself because you opened the vehicle with a key and not the fob.

My 2009 does this if you lock the truck manually, then close the door, not if you lock it with the Fob.

When you open it with the Fob, or key, the truck counts down until the alarm goes. It will shut down the alarm or count once the key is in the ignition.
