Rubber knobs on Cup Holder

Rubber ***** on Cup Holder

The little rubber ***** on the interior of my cup holder that hold the drink in place have sunk in and they won't automatically come out like they are designed to. Has anyone else had this issue? Any ideas?

I've already popped them back out from the inside. Once they are folded in, they will not stay out again. If I can get them out of the cup holder without tearing them, I will put a piece of foam behind them.
