I was replacing the cdr valve on my dad's 89 f250 7.3, and the tube broke apon removal of the valve. Does anyone have a parts number for the tube? Does Ford still sell them? Or have they been discontinued? I tried gluing it back together, but it broke again trying to put it back. Neither have been replaced since my dad's owned the truck (almost 10 years) so I figured it was way over due. Is there an alternative to the cdr valve? And is the truck good to drive without it?

 

I would go to the pick-a-part and look for a "new to you" one.
I would not drive it without the air intake hole blocked off.

Search "road draft tube" for info on an alternative.

I bought on Amazon along with CDR valve a while ago. The whole thing was missing on my truck...

 

You basically have to fix it, even if you have to use heater hose and some silicone or something.
If you try to run a RDT, your engine will look like it's on fire. IDIs always have a /ton/ of blowby.

So, fix it. Mattnj has the correct part numbers.
