i just bought a 302 from a friend of mine. the casting number by the starter says it,s a 78 from a Lincoln. there is another number on a machined surface on the top of the block on the rear right where the manifold stops. it,s stamped into the block. the number is 8R126424 does anybody know what this is.? thanks for any help with this.

 

If the casting number prefix is D8VE .. it's a 302 from a 1978 Lincoln Versailles.
