OK don't know if this is relevant but I have noticed in the last hour of sitting in my truck drinking moonshine that the power plug cycles on and off every 10 seconds when my iPad is plugged in however if my iPad is not plugged in it doesn't cycle on and off
Let's start with that DP tuner. The chip needs to be completely pulled from the PCM. I'm not blasting at your chip, but any time you get screwy behavior from the truck - step one is to remove questions about modifications and connections to them. I've had a bad connection to a chip before, and it can easily lead to a scene like a puppy chasing his own tail.
You didn't waste your money on the batteries. Like a line from a famous cable show - winter is coming... and you had imbalanced batteries with one of them out of life. Our batteries are good for about 4 years, depending on the situation.
UPDATE....Tested the glow plug relay. Tested good for power bad for signal???..I tested it using a light tester.
If I connect the black clip to the battery and touch the power post on the glow plug relay it lights up. I turn the key and touch the post feeding the glow plugs it lights up. Now when I put the black clip on the little ground post on the back and touch the little pos post on the front no light however if I connect it to the battery neg post and touch the little pos post it lights up.. would that indicate a bad ground wire leading to the glow plug?

you can't test a ground switched signal circuit using a test lamp. It will not illuminate the bulb as the current is left over from the load. You can use a Multimeter and see voltage.

Your relay is working correctly and being commanded by the PCM.
I was a bit unclear when you said it originally died on you. Was it definitely like it was being starved of fuel and puttered out or did it simple shut down?
Another I'm unclear on is you say the WTS light is not coming on but the GP's are getting the ground signal from the PCM. Do you get tach movement when cranking and how much?
Have you checked the oil level because our injectors need it to push the fuel and its got to be fresh oil.
Right in front of the engine is the HPOP res with a pipe plug on the right. You need to take that out with an allen and see if the oil is at least 1" from the top. If not, you wont have enough oil in the rails to feed the injectors.
Another thing to check is to crack open the fuel bowl and drain some fuel into a can below. Youll see a steel tube wind down the pass side towards the front and you can hook up some 1/4 brake hose. inspect it to make sure its clean. Then pull the filter and check for black debris which could indicate bad injector rings breaking apart which would lead to a no start.
Just bought the truck Friday. It has run fine till about 2:30 today then this afternoon. As far as I can see it has a dp tuner on it. I'll check fuses in the morning when I have better light. Will post what I find. The fact I can't pull the check engine light is bothering me. Makes me think something serious is wrong.
with out out reading the entire thread, I am going to start with the red flag invade it was not mentioned, pull the chip out (off) the ecm/Ecu and try with out it, get the truck to as close to as start consideration as possible for testing, also wait to start light not coming on indicates possibility of fuse number is 30 been grown potentially disconnects your ball either replaced the fuse then test and see if they want to start light comes on
Usaman....it just shut off..I was on the phone and it just died. Fired right back up two more times then dead. I checked the oil it is good going to check the hpop res like you suggested when it gets light out. I did crack the fuel bowl open and check the fuel filter and fuel looks clean, filter looks clean. I have noticed that the fuel bowl hasn't filled back up when we primed and tried to start it again.
Jaime....as I stated before I have removed the chip and checked the fuse. The fuse is not blown. I did replace it just for fun and still no wts light.

Going to test fuel pump this morning also.
I have been following this thread and can't remember, did you open the filter drain and see if fuel pours out when you turn on the ignition? That will give you an immediate clue about the fuel pump.
Yes sir rvtech. I did drain the bowl when I checked the filter. I left the plug open and have tried to start the truck and I don't see any fuel drain out.
Can check the fuel pump with my light tester to check for power or do I have to use a voltmeter. I only have a light tester right now.

Just turn your ignition on to run and see if fuel pours out the open filter drain. Should put out steadily. When my pump went, it died erratically at first, but finally when I opened the drain and turned on the ignition, nothing at all came out. Pump had died.
I checked the fuel pump relay fuse in the engine bay fuse box. It is not blown. I tested the fuel pump with my light tester and it doesn't light up....no power to fuel pump? Is there a relay somewhere or just the fuse? I'm thinking bad fuel pump. My buddy says bad relay.
Forgot to add I'm not seeing any fuel drain out with the plug open and key on.

You're saying there is no (+) to the connector on the fuel pump, correct?
There is a relay behind the Radio.
Just for giggles...... disconnect it at the fuel pump and re-check it. You only have about 20 seconds prior to it automatically turning off. You may need someone to turn the key. Also ensure your ground surface is clean and free of any grease, oil, etc.
If you have power (and I suspect you do), does the fuel pump activate at all?
