Sport mode

I like sport mode for driving around town and I recently drove from Vegas home to St George in sport mode. I like the snappy performance. Problem is that I often forget to put it in sport mode. Is there a way to lock it in sport mode all the time and take it out if I want to. I never tow anything, no hitch. 3.5 N/A driven by a senior citizen. Loving this truck. 15 F150 CC. Thanks.

There's seems to be no way to lock it in either sport or tow/haul, which is a pain.

If there was, that would probably be the most popular mod on the forums.

I have no idea why, but if I had to guess it would be because of the emission testing. Gotta do your CAFE tests in the final "normal" mode.

I agree with this. My truck is pretty much in Sport mode all the time. I feel less slop in the transmission and more connected with the truck. It takes less pressing of the throttle for a response as well.

Sport mode will eliminate the need for a tuner for additional performance. And it does not affect the warranty.

Mine shuts down the fuel at about 106. There aren't many places anymore with the room to run that fast, even with highways near me that have posted 80 and 85 MPH speed limits. You catch up with traffic awful fast at that speed. It's fun for short bursts, but absolutely unnecessary.

It sure does get there quick though. I remember driving late model cars in the early to mid 80s that you had to absolutely flog to get to 85 MPH, then could not maintain that speed. But the speed limit was 55 for most of that decade.

Not even close.

No, it doesn't change gearing or power output. But, you can't get to 100? That shouldn't be an issue at all with any of the engines they provide.

I find sport mode way too aggressive, except when I want a jump on traffic once in a while, I like tow/haul better, sport mode on a 3.5 Eco will just get me into trouble!

I find that sport mode works well in stop and go traffic. It holds the lower gears longer helping with acceleration and engine braking.
