When I'm on the on-ramp, and the traffic merge looks like it's going to be gnarly, I give the mode button a couple of taps so I can get to matching speed with a minimum of fuss. My DW almost invariably mutters "Whoa!"
I did that alot also. But, now with the 2020, you have to wade through 3 other modes to get to sport mode. Like Seventyseven said, a foot to the floor does the trick. I do try to anticipate my need for sport mode more so now.
Thing with sport mode and M is you can lock out gears and have some cool fun shifting In M. Gas mileage here is not a requirement. Just don’t do it on speed trap routes. It’s for fun not lawyer times. You can have some great times when you lock in that 3.73 axle !
Sport Mode also works well in the mountains. Living in Colorado, it makes a difference both in climbing and descending. Keeps it in lower gear and minimizes braking. Also find better gas mileage in mountains (wouldn't have thought).
That aluminum knuckle really White Oxide corroded that bearing tight. Live in an area where a lot of Snow/Ice buster is sprayed on the bridges and exits. Right side takes a licking and hurts, gets very loud very quickly.

We live in the coastal mountains between Santa Cruz and the Bay Area. If we go anywhere, and I mean anywhere, we are going down the mountain to get there, and up the mountain to get home. I use tow/haul mode to make the descent/ascent a smoother operation.
Sport mode is especially helpful in the mountains. Live in Colorado, works great. The odd thing is: I even get better gas mileage.

+1, although I typically use tow/haul mode when I climb our mountains here. The mode shift keeps you in one-step lower gear, and results in less engine lugging and smoother driving overall.
I add Octane Boost like Boostane with 93-94, hit the Sport button and just enjoy that Tune. It doesn't shift to 6th until above 60 mph. Lots of time I am driving in 4th gear just like I would if I had a manual trany ! The Turbos are happy ! Loose 2 mph in Sport but Is a lot of fun especially when back Roads with lots of hilly/curvy roads, letting those turbos talk with Octane, well Turbo's loves it ! You can hear that power in the Exhaust ! You can hear the Turbos popping off ! Wonder what 120 octane would do ? Maybe need a LIVERNOIS Tune and more Turbo addition ?
