Starter challenge
Ok so I had a starter issue this last week. When I got to checking the 6.0L starter
I had replaced with the 6.4 starter I found that it also had the switched side nut on
both starters was loose.
This is what I would like every one to do. With the batteries disconnected. (We don't want a light show)
Check both of the nuts on the starter solenoid to see if they are loose at all.

P.S. Get the cat snacks out before you call the cats for the snacks or you risk getting mobbed.
Really that goes for any pet and the snacks.

Coming out: both of my nuts were tight.
Going back in: the assembled nut was tight when checked. The second nut was tightened by me.
I just checked my nuts again and both are still tight after a few days of getting heated up.
How often would you like us to check these?

I really think that if you have worked on the starter then a recheck a few days
later after a few start cycles would do it.
The ones that should recheck are the ones that check and find something loose
the first time.
With a new solenoid mine starts so much better now.

At my age that doesn't happen that often. At 8-10k miles per year it only happens once maybe twice a year. But the next time should be in about a week, God willing.
