starting problem-----

hello everyone! i own a 97 f150 4.2........ when the weather warms up and the truck is hot, sometimes when i cut it off it will not turn the starter over. i have power everywhere but there. let it sit for a while, sometimes half an hour, and when it cools off it will start. replaced the starter, switch, silniod (sp), checked all the wires--- nothing. thinking about putting a heat sheild over the starter. what do you guys think? thanks, dave

you don't have a manifold leak spraying hot exhaust onto the starter do ya? That can cause that problem and make it act like your starter is going out.
