Dealer added in my instrument gauge cluster how close Im getting to regen

Next week I take my truck in and they are going to download the program so that when I go into my gauge instrument mode it will display how many miles I am until the truck is about to regen percentage

just shows a percentage till full.

Then when it goes into regen you can watch the percentage go back down.

Both will help you determine how close you are to needing a regen and in my case it will go all the way down to zero, indicating a completed regen.

I don't know about that

I know some models are capable of operator commanded regens, not sure if it can be added or it had to be factory installed.

I think XL, maybe XLT trims can have it.

Seems to be a popular topic the past couple of days. This is the third thread I have seen in this 6.7 PSD forum.
Take a look at the one titled "Operator Commanded Regeneration". Talks about a manual regen when parked.
I haven't tried it but will when its ready.

Operator Commanded Regen was only an option on the XL and XLT trucks considered work trucks models. It is not an option you can add after delivery from what I have been able to determine. It is not available on Lariat or high level trims.

I have it on my 2012 Lariat Ultimate. I just commanded a regen the other day to try it out.

I'm at 47k miles and have gone through regen cycles and jugs of DEF with being a daily driver of a 70 mile round trip commute in rush hour traffic with some highway sprinkled in and a few thousand towing miles and have not had any regen related issues of any sort.
But I do know that clogged filters are an issue for city service vehicles that never see full cycles completed
There are times when I have just completed a regen cycle and pulled in the drive after a couple miles off the highway. Doesn't happen with that sort of timing as often as I would like but anyway.... Even then I can feel the heat coming out from under the truck (No its not just off the exhaust on a normal days drive) and I have heard about the temps the regen cycle generates.
If you do a manual regen while stationary and that heat just rises and bakes the underbelly I would be concerned with doing this on a regular basis. I admittedly don't know if there is a heat shield between the chamber and the cab underside but even still I would just do this only if you never or rarely go through the cycle normally.
I know there is this phobia about non completed regen cycles but aside from the always city driving issues I have not heard of any related mechanical failures from just completing the regen cycle as the sensors are programmed to.
