Congrats on the house. Glad you got a shop you can work on the truck in. We bought 8.65 acres over by Lake Jackson. So now my time is split between land clearing and some stuff on the truck

The rain is just outside Birmingham. It appears to be a long narrow system. From I 20 to the Great lakes. Maybe it will help with the wildfires

Congrats on the house Alex!! Also the progress on the truck.

The rain had just started when I fell asleep and it's still coming down this morning. I'm glad the wind has calmed down. Maybe this will cut down on the dust and help with the fires in North GA.

I'll trade you engine change outs Alex !! The main shop is behind on customer repairs so they dragged this into my bay yesterday afternoon. 60 hours to replace the engine. It took me over an hour to pull the intake and exhaust systems.

Oh my goodness. I can't even imagine all that. Wow! Yeah I have been to summit twice, and Advance auto parts like 5 times in a weekend. These little things are getting me every time. I thought I had everything when I started but my buddy knows a lot more then me and has been asking me questions I didn't even think about.

Not doing too bad, intake, exhaust, hydraulic and AC is disconnected. Some more electrical lines, torque converter bolts and a few other lines and I should have it out by tomorrow afternoon.

Hey Hugh, Can you tell me where to get that Heat shield stuff you used in your engine bay? I might have to wrap my starter after going long tube headers to prevent heat soak. My starter is the original motor craft. Still has the made in USA stamp on it!

How much do you need?

Started the electric fan mod today, it on hold going to pull the radiator and get it up to the shop in Griffin and have them check it, plus I going to do waterpump.

I should have the engine out by lunch tomorrow, that's the plan anyway. It's not as bad as I was expecting, still a ton of work for one person. Customer repairs have really picked up a ton since the election is over.

Today is my last official day in the Army.

What crazy weather we are having. We had frost over the long Thanksgiving weekend and now it's warm enough for short sleeves this morning. Pretty good rain so far and light sprinkles right now as I get ready to head out the door.

Rain off and on all day yesterday. I was able to get the radiator out and the stock fan off

Today I am officially retired from the Army !!!

Yesterday I had an episode of you can't make this s**t up.

I was working on pulling the cooling package on the bucket loader I posted earlier. Trying to pull the lower radiator hose off the radiator. It let go and somehow I ripped the finger nail off my left ring finger and almost cut the end of my finger off. I have no idea on what I hit on. My boss takes me to a local clinic they use and was there for over 3 hrs. They take an x-ray, clean it out a little bit and give me a tetanus and antibiotic shot. They start to do a nerve block to sew up the end of my finger. The doctor ask's me if I can still feel the end of my finger, I say yes. He then scoots back in his chair and says: You need to go to an emergency room. I'm like what the hell!!!

My boss then take me back to work so I can go home with the guy I commute with. I lock up my tools and we get ready to head to the car and we get hit by a tornado!! No damage but it blew leaves and boxes and stuff around the inside of the building. We ran and stayed in the safety room for over 20 minutes. Finally got to the hospital in Rome around 4 and they wrapped me up after 8 pm. This all started around 10:30 in the morning, so my finger was bleeding and no pain medication for over 8 hours.

Needless to say I decided to take the day off today.
