November talking turkey BS thread
So far this weekend is starting off fairly productive. I started early on finishing up the brake job on the passenger side of Frankentruck in case I ran into the unexpected. For once, everything went exactly as planned and I'm already done. Braking is so much better than it was and I've got a rock solid e-brake to boot.

Other than some better rubber on the back tires, I think I'm pretty much ready for winter.

I have to replace the right upper control arm because the ball joint is a little loose and repack the front wheel bearings because the front left wheel bearing is a little loose.
Sad part is changing out the control arm is a much easier job than repacking the wheel bearings.
O'Reilly's not having the parts I need until 1:00 didn't thrill me either.
I did have some fun today with the buggy.
Those LED shop light bulbs sound cool.
Rich, it looks like you had fun.
I got the Yukon shot after a lot of aggravation trying to find the paint color. GM keeps screwing up the codes on the data sheets and makes a simple job a friggin' nightmare. Anyway, it looks decent, so it should be ready to deliver on Monday.
We're also getting closer to bringing the new toy home. I still have to figure out how to get it back from Michigan, though.
And you can look over the disk brake front end on my parts truck.

So much for getting an extra hour of sleep. The girls haven't been doing their chores, so I woke up at 0500 and did the dishes and cleaned the kitchen. I need to go in to the shop today and reassemble the Yukon, then maybe get the battery tray on Mongo welded back together.
Morning all! Today is football and maybe some work in the shop to clean it out some more.....
I was brush hogging into my woods yesterday and something got hit and broke my glass on my back door. Urggg lucky it was double paned...still a mess to clean up

Wiper delay box and switch installed and working, correct headlight and wiper switch ***** installed, replaced the bulb for the back-up light that was out on the wife's car. Next is new wiper blades and washing windshields. If you're wondering how to get that stubborn film that forms on the inside of the windshield off - use hot water with a liberal amount of Dawn dishwashing liquid. Cuts right through it.
Windshields, front door windows, and mirrors cleaned on all 4 operational vehicles. My shoulders were sore before, but now they're really unhappy. The last thing on my list is to finally install the center caps on the front wheels on the truck. Now that the e-brake works, jacking the truck up is far less sketchy than it used to be.
We'll be on the road to Indiana Thursday afternoon or real early Friday morning. The Monster truck Hall of Fame induction banquet this weekend, then back to work until I make the trip up to Michigan in a couple weeks.
Busy, busy.
Also had the faded red Bronco out for its blow out the carb cobwebs ride. Thanks again RC, that work you did on the carb fixed it for sure. It will still run even almost standing on its nose or about to flip on its side....
