so im trying to get this thing running before it gets too cold to work on, and i dont have any of the original hard lines from this truck as its a frame up build. i have a new fuel pump and filter sure and i got these handy fittings that are suppose to thread into the filter and pump (male fittings for the female threaded parts) and on the other end they adapt for hose and clamp. my problem. the darn things wont thread in. anyone know the proper size and threading of these parts????? need help ASAP

Do you have the brand name and part number for these fittings? Or can you post a closeup pic of the fitting?
Are you using the stock fuel filter that threads directly into the carb inlet?
The fuel pump and inlet side of the filter both use inverted flare fittings. This is the type of fitting typically used on brake lines, for example:
I'm not sure of the exact thread size on those fittings, but it's a standard size for a 5/16" line.
I wonder if if you accidentally got fittings with tapered pipe threads instead. The thread dimensions may look similar but they seal in a totally different way.
