It could have been a pre-production platinum too. I mean... we're talking about a guy with a truck that pulls up to the only dried grass in the parking lot and then like a model citizen picks it all up rather than simply driving another 5 feet forward.

I loved the safety glasses, the checking of the engine oil, the picking up of the debris, and the detailed checking of the exhaust tip holes.

Nevertheless, in the shots where the driver is sitting in the seats (particularly when he starts the engine with the push-button starter), you can see the lighter silver metallic around the steering wheel buttons. When the camera zooms to the screen and the steering wheel buttons themselves, you can clearly see the textured black around the steering wheel buttons of an XLT truck. It's definitely two different trucks because you can't get this factory on a Platinum.

Good observation re: changed vehicles, and they did note not available on all trim levels. At least there is something you can get without having to purchase a higher end trim level! Pretty hokey staging but what more can be expected from a "clip board ****" Maybe a freshly harvested wheat field with long rows of dry straw would have a better effect!

I posted this on another thread awhile back but on my 15 SD I used my Edge Insight CTS to start a manual regen. It worked great. Took about 20 minutes and burned .6 gallons of fuel. Sometimes I do a lot of short drives and every time a regen would start I would stop and it would start over. After you do this a few times the DPF starts to fill up.

Because they assume work trim trucks will be doing more city driving and idling and will require a manual regen.

Give it time. It will be a plain English option in a future version.

I'm still thinking this may be possible with Forscan. It was just figured out in the 6.7 section that the previous gen has the option to force a stationary regen when the "ghost screen" is enabled showing the DPF % full level. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...eneration.html

So, Frantz shared the link in this thread to the OCR video. I was curious what other videos they had on Ford trucks, and the first was performing a static regeneration from some diagnostic tool. They don't mention a year, model, or trim, so can this be performed on any Super Duty with diesel? ... if so, seems to make my selection of the OCR option on my custom order pointless and expensive!

According to the Ford literature only the 2017 XL or XLT trims for Super Duty trucks have the Operator Commanded Regeneration feature available. I recall two salemen telling me that all trim levels were equipped with OCR... perhaps they were referring to the diagnostic interface.

Can a diagnostic interface kick off a stationary regeneration on the 2017 Lariat, King Ranch and Platinum like the OCR feature on XL and XLT?

In the video it seems to suggest the diagnostic interface can ignore the current filter level and force the static regeneration. Whereas the OCR feature on the 2017 XL and XLT (the manual says) it must be at 100% (saturated) before you can initiate the stationary OCR.
