Block heater

Does anyone know if block heaters are standard?

Just bought a 2016 F-350 , cant find the cord but maybe there isn't one?

Could ask the dealer but that's a last resort.

Supposed to be standard in Canada... It's tough thing to find. You are looking for a black cord, with a black plug tip, tucked into the cubby with no lights, up against black plastic...

On my 2012, 2015, and both 2016 trucks, the block heater cords were always to the left or right of the front license plate in the large opening in the front bumper. Cord should have a cap over the plug; it might be tied up just inside the bumper.

Only trucks going to 11 northern areas get the block heater as standard from what I remember, unless the truck was ordered with one. Mine did not come with one, but I have one in my garage to put on. It really doesn't get cold enough here in GA to use it that much, but I bought it so the truck would be warmer and help with warm up. There are a few write ups on here about how to add one. Doesn't seem complicated at all and you DON'T have to drain the coolant. Just be ready for a fast swap out when the plug comes out of the block. Guys have done it and only lost about 10oz of coolant.
