Another DPF Delete Question....

Hello forum members,

So in the past eight months that I've had my 2012 F250 I have had to take it to the shop to get the EGT sensors replaced and the heat sender unit in the DPF tank replaced. Thankfully under warranty, but as soon as the warranty is gone these things can cost me a pretty penny.

So, I am in the beginning stages of my DPF delete process.

I am pretty confident with tools and basic maintenance, so I can do all the maintenance myself. Here are my questions?

1. Where do you get the best deals for delete kits?

2. Can it be done by one person, or is it something for a specialist?

3. The EGR confuses me, I can easily remove and reinstall a pipe under the truck. But how difficult is it to block the EGR?

Any help that you all can provide would be very much appreciated.

Subscribing as I'm in the same boat. What I've learned:

1. The best deals come from a few of the major vendors, but you have to call for that good price.

2. Any shade tree mechanic can do it. Use penetrating oil liberally. The exhaust is very heavy/awkward so it helps to have a small jack or another pair of hands.

3. The EGR block off is simply unbolting some pipes and reinstalling their respective block off plates with the EGT sensor. The EGR delete is more involved, I plan to leave mine on and blocked off.

You got any recommended vendors?

Also, I'm looking for an online tutorial for blocking off the EGR but so far I've come up empty or extremely vague. Do you know of any?

Thanks

Block off method is easier, no cooler to remove. For most of the plates one of the EGT sensors goes into a plate.

For the DPF it depends on what type of exhaust setup you want. Either full replacement or a delete pipe, sometimes call a race pipe.

I'm waiting on a FloPro delete pipe and block off kit.
