The block heater was included on all 6.0L's, but depending on where (state) the truck was sold, the cord may not have been added unless the truck was specifically ordered with the block heater option.
If you cannot find the cord in the opening for the passenger side tow hook, you can hit the dealership & get one for something like $30....or hit one of the site sponsors.
Deluxe is correct. If you didn't order one all you need is the cord. Look on E-bay before big dollars at the dealer. I would sell you mine. I have yet to use it but as soon as I do I will need it. lol
Did Ford leave off the block heater on the 05-07s? I know that the earlier models have them, but I can't find the plug right where it should be.
FTE is a great place to be!
Deluxe is right they all have them....
If you look through the inner fender, from the passenger side wheel, right above the starter you should see 2 prongs. That means you need a cord. I paid $24.00 at the international dealer.
If you see a red or black cord then you have everything and it is just stuffed behind the bumper near the tow hook.
Note: The block heater does not take the place of a freeze plug like the gas engines do. The heater is about 1-2 inches to the left of a freeze plug..
I have been looking into buying the heater cord for my truck and I keep hearing conflicting part numbers. One of them starts with a Z but I can't remember the rest, the other is 1686485C91. My International dealer says the Z number is an invalid part and wants $40 for the other, but everyone on here says they paid around $25. Does anyone know which part number is right?
