My Edge Insight stopped being able to communicate. It will power up but won't load gauges, just runs through the protocol's.
Truck is stock. I have talked to tech support at Edge and they are pointing the finger at my truck as having the problem.
Any suggestions?
I've tried disconnecting the batteries, and draining any charge from the truck. Wiring seems fine at the port. The unit does work fine in a different vehicle.
What year/engine? Mine did the same thing, tech support told me to upgrade the software and see if it was still messing up. I did, same issue. I lost the email response when my work laptop was upgraded, basically it was along the lines of "must be a hardware issue" and didn't say which end it was on, been meaning to call back but it's been three years now....
I had bought a DashBoss for another car, I use it in the truck now, never really looked back.
I spent some time on the phone with tech support at Edge, we tried updating software as well as tried old software. Edge seems to think the truck isn't talking with the Edge unit. I find it unlikely that the truck's computer went corrupt.
Mine had that issue after the edge worked flawlessly for 2years and they sent me a new cable and two new egt probes, same problem persisted. Newest update was installed also. So it meant either a dead unit or truck problem. I started messing around with the wiring and it seemed that there was a connection issue at the obd2 port. What I had to do was pull up on the wiring and ziptie it in place, been running trouble free for atleast 6months again. Worth a try maybe?
