I need some motor swap help

The flathead is now out of my 48 F2, and the 302 from the 68 Mustang, is ready to install into the truck.
I see there are 2 different types of mounts available from Mid Fifties.
One type is
1948-72 Ford F-100 Motor Side Mounts, Ford Small Block - 4145

The other is a complete cross member
1948-64 Ford F-100 Crossmember Engine Mount, Ford Small Block 221-289-302-351 Windsor - 4819

Anybody have any experience with these kits?
Is one type easier than the other?

I used the second mount in my 1949F1 with a 289 and also moved the engine 1 1/2 inch's over to the passenger side to make room for the header to clear the Toyota power steering box.

I made my own 302 mounts since the Volare front suspension required an offset engine mount but they were similar to the side mounts.

I used the second one also. I installed the motor and AOD tranny together and marked the locations of both the cross members. I drilled a 5/16 hole thru the ends and installed a bolt to hold it there. Then I removed E&T and welded cross member, then bolted it into the frame rails. Went pretty easy.

I like a cross member engine mount in these trucks as it tightens up the frame.

I positioned my 351w with the c-6 transmission attached to clear the Toyota steering box. I fabricated my own engine mounts and moved the original trans cross member rearward. The frame is a different width at this new location so I fabricated a pair of shims on each side of the cross member. The engine and trans is centered in the frame.

I did the cross member one with my 302 AOD swap. I also offset 1 inch to the passenger side to give more room for the steering and the power steering box. It did take some massaging to get it to fit right between the boxed in frame rails.

I used the stock engine side motor mounts from my 302 and fabricated something like the first option to mate up with them.
