Hi there. I have a 2003 F250 5.4. Blew a cylinder in it and I am trying to do an engine swap.
I am trying to find a good 5.4 to do the swap. Have come across some F150 5.4's, but I can't seem to find a solid answer on compatibility.
Does someone know the years that could be cross compatible, if they even are? Is there a site that might have some more specific info?
Have already sourced out the local wreckers and have not found a working engine from an F250, but I have a low KM F150 5.4 sitting at one yard. Hoping it will work.
Pretty sure that as long as you find a 2 valve PI engine then you can use it; depending on what it came out of you may need to swap over parts from your old engine (oil pan, possibly timing cover, not sure if the intake manifold is the same on an f-150)
I just went through this. The intake and exhaust manifolds are different. The 250 doesn't have the egr. And the location of the oil filter and housing are different. Can the filter housing be swapped? That I don't know because I took the F150 engine back and just did the heads on mine.

Yes the oil filter housing can be swapped out, I remember doing that when I swapped engines.
