I had my hydrovac on my 56 F750 rebuilt 14 months ago and it was rarely used.
It failed on me just like the man said it would because they only had old NOS parts in which to rebuild it.
Is the there a remote power brake unit that I can locate under the floor that would have the power and displacement of fluid that will replace the hydrovac?
On my 55 F100 I had installed such a unit and it works well but only has a 9" booster and there is probably not enough fluid to operate the F750 brakes.
Thank you for any replys,

Sounds like the nos parts your rebuilder used might have dried out.
You may have already tried this, but if you want to stay original I would check out Hemmings for a rebuilder.
If you are not that worried about keeping it original, you might try finding a latter model. We still have a couple of mid 70's F750s out on the farm and the hydo vac's on those worked very well. However a quick search just now did not yield any body selling those. You might have to move into a newer model. Ford is back in the mid range truck business again. Check out the hydro vacs they are using now and see if they might work as a upgrade.
Good luck,
If you have a real Napa over there that have books like my store has. They matched
mine a big Bendix for a 1953 F900. Of course it wasn't on the shelf but had it the
next day. think it was 185 bucks and I believe F7,8 and F9's probably the same.
hi ! bring this back up because i,m looking for a replacement hydrovac for my 1942 2 ton ford.got a quote for rebuilting the original and its a bit high. so i,m thinking of using a different model. but i would not like to buy something that doesn,t work. i think all our trucks use a 1 ¼ inch master cylinders. i got rear 1½ inch cylinders and front are 1 3-8.
what are you guys using!!!

for my F6 i went to a chevy master cylinder for a 5700 truck. It was 1 1/4 bore and had enough volume for the drum brakes. Of course i had to make the brackets.
The O'Reilly number is 51-8056. It was the exact Bendix replacement. Sorry, I don't have the Bendix number with me. I found it by doing an internet search with the OEM 8T-2005 part number from the book. Correction: It was $200 exchange.
