T-18 shift forks

Inspection of my shift forks (1971) shows the original teflon? dipped coating is worn thru to the base metal on the forks. Just barely but enough to warrant replace/repair. My forks are steel, NOT aluminum, and will not accept any slip/clip on replacement tabs. I've spent a lot of time trying to find a way/method something to fix the issue with no luck. Anyone have any ideas?

I have yet to call Novak or Makco because today is Saturday. Plus I'd really like to keep the steel forks if possible.

I would think that Grainger would have some type of dip coating-in-a-can. Try doing a search there. Other wise I found this with goggle: https://www.chemours.com/Teflon_Indu.../coatings.html

I can look up the part numbers on the forks but need info. Either the ser # before or after L60,001 of the original truck this came in or the case markings on your tranny. Examples would be either 1W3CA, 2W3JA, ETC.
