Mine seems quieter than ever. Quieter than my short-lived 2016 King Ranch diesel.

In fact, stand in the bed and look down at the gap between the bed and cab wall: there are new carpet-like sound mats installed there which never existed on the previous version.

On its own, aluminum transmits more noise than steel. That is one of the main reasons the firewall on these trucks is still steel. However, it requires additional sound proofing not needed on the steel trucks. Note the hood pad for the first time on a 6.7L diesel.

Make sure the noise you are hearing is not the heated / cooled front seats. The blowers seem much noisier then before, combined with the fact that the climate control remembers if they were on when you shut the truck off and automatically turns them back on. Before I connected the dots, I thought I left a rear window down.

I also have the premium vinyl flooring option instead of rug, that could also have a impact on the sound, I'll have to take a close look to make sure I'm not missing any panels and no it's not the seats, it's defiantly road noise when I pick up speed on the hwy

Double check your door seals and latch. On my current SC if the right rear door is not fully latched I get a ton of road noise. It is not enough to activate the door ajar light and looks like it is fully closed, but it is sometimes not.
