Viynl flooring

to those who have this option, do you feel that opting to not have the carpet causes more cab noise?

Not at all. Carpet delete is great. Foam backed vinyl may even be a better sound killer than carpet.

I hope to never have another truck with carpet. That was the 1 option that I kept going round & round about. It was by far the hardest decision about the truck, but also one of the best.

Odd, when we were test driving trucks, we noticed a big difference in interior noise and diesel engine sound in the truck with the carpet delete verses the one that was carpeted. We liked the carpet delete option for the kids and mess when camping, but the sound difference in the trucks we did the side by side comparisons with we decided against it based on noise.

I sat in a King Ranch with this option. I didn't like the look at all. I wouldn't care if it made the truck silent!

I've had trucks with the vinyl flooring, and though I don't have now for a comparison, I never really noticed any difference in the sound level.

vinyl flooring is the only way to go, unless you only use the truck as a car. I've had both and I've never noticed a difference between the two.

I also think vinyl is the way to go, but vinyl will reflect more ambient noise created INSIDE the truck, where carpet will absorb those noises. For example, closing the glove compartment or console may seem a little louder in the vinyl floored truck. But I wouldn't expect a discernible difference between the two flooring options with noise emanating from OUTSIDE the truck, like that coming from the engine, tires, road, etc.

I'm curious about the matts as well. I like the idea of vinyl floors, but then I think how filthy my matts get....and I just take them out and hose them down...I guess you can still put aftermarket liner/matts in, even on the vinyl floor too.

I have the carpet delete in my truck. I can't imagine it being any quieter in the cab. Maybe it is with carpet, but it's nearly silent right now. And mine came with crap floor mats. I opted for Husky floor mats and couldn't be more happy.

I don't think it does. I chose the carpet delete option and there was still an All Weather Floor Mat option.

No it does not but I bought the OEM rubber mats for mine and I am very happy with them.

Have posted this before on another thread, would never again buy a truck w/carpet. Truck will not come with mats unless you order that option. Carpet delete only way to go for me. Overlay with rubber mats of your choosing, either ford or after market, you won"t regret it it, IMHO.
