BTW, I'm not talking EPA-compliant tunes, lift kits, etc. Only removing emission equipment and making your truck pollute more than acceptable levels.
I get the clean air stuff. No one had mentioned deletes you just jumped to that conclusion. Others were complaining of the other mods.

I know mine will get a dpf delete right away. I have had way too many regeneration issues across multiple vehicle platforms... not worth it.

Tuning a DPF-equipped truck normally involves deletes. Apologize if I jumped to any conclusions.

I'm actually tired of the diesel smell myself so no plans to delete but do want the other options that come from being able to tune.

Slippery argument, Fordman. Going way off topic here, but a man pulling a Bruce Jenner and using the same restroom as my daughter is perfectly legal but also perfectly trampling on my rights and wishes. I see that as a much bigger problem then rolling coal or doing a little burnout. "Enlightened" society needs to pull its head out of its rear.

I was looking into that this morning and went to 5 Star's website but they do not have a tune for the 2017 6.7L as of yet.

I agree with you 100%! It's more about ethics and morals than legality. As a whole, this country has lost all morals. But, enough of that, let's talk about tuning a 2017!

Actually, there are quite a few tunes out there that leave the DPF alone and mainly focus on Transmission tuning and mild engine tuning. I loved the Custom Transmission Only Tuning available from 5StarTuning on my 2011. Deleted the speed limiter and really improved shift points. A+ tuners in my book. That being said I will "probably" not tune mine until after 100k miles like I did on my 2011. I go elsewhere to get my speed fix, not my
?6000lb? truck.

Yes society has lost politeness for itself. If someone wants to roll coal all around a residential neighborhood they should just do it and leave a cloud that lasts 30 minutes. If the Harley riders want to rev their straight pipes in front of houses at 2:30 am they should do it. Makes them safe is what they claim. If someone wants to play their rip hip rap trash at 130 DBs of bass and disturb the neighborhood they should just do it. If someone wants the threaten the cops with their hand jesters they should just do it. If someone wants to turn right on red without stopping or looking while texting their BFF they should just do it. In every case it is the people who complain about these behaviors who are wrong. Everyone has a right to do whatever they want and screw you if you complain. Except the conservative individuals who think they have rights to own the firearms of their choice, or the right to keep the money they worked hard for, or the right to see their own doctor, or the right to use the public lands confiscated by the government.

And I maintain my right to continue the hijack of this thread. After all, I don't have one of them thar fancy trucks to discuss!!!

And it doesn't have to be rolling coal to put more pollutants than allowed in the air. Tune all you want, as long as it still meats emissions regulations, no harm, no foul. One truck isn't a big deal, but multiply that by the 250k PowerStroke diesels sold every year and you begin to see a problem. I have 3 young kids, and I care about the quality of the Earth that we are going to leave to them. As much as I hate the emissions equipment on my truck, and the fact that I have to burn more fuel to have fewer emissions (doesn't make sense does it? ), the quality of life and clean air for my kids (and your kids and grandkids) is more important to me. BTW, I'm putting solar panels up to cover nearly 100% of my electricity usage too.

Anyway, I'm not going any further off topic.
The problem I have with your argument is that we can have clean burning, non-coal rolling diesels without all the destructive emissions equipment. You say "Tune all you want, as long as it still meats (should have said meets) emission regulations, no harm, no foul." So if they removed all EPA regulations tomorrow, and there were no emission regulations anymore, you'd immediately be okay with people rolling coal and blowing black smoke on your family?

I've seen the EPA in action. It's another corrupt government organization. I want a diesel truck that can be tuned, produce low emissions, have no EGR or DPF garbage on it. Sadly, the vehicle manufacturers could have gone this route, but the government got involved.

Oh and as far as carcinogens, oxygen is one. It is the major contributor to all cancers. So better stop breathing.

Sigh, it's so hard to have an intelligent conversation some times. I apologize for the typo of meat vs. meet by the way...I had supper on the brain.

Here is the summary of my stance. You should be able to figure out where I stand on most of your questions from that.

BTW, where are all these clean burning diesels that don't have the destructive emissions equipment. If it's possible, there should be tons of them out there, right?

Go to Europe and get behind any of their diesel powered vehicles.
The ones that are modified here are odorless compared to them.
Lots of "Stuff" I wont get into about our flawed .gov and the EPA.
We sure as Hell don't need Al Gore telling us how to live.

Hey Todd, haven't heard from you in a while. Doesn't Al Gore drive an Aries K car? And you would think he would have a Prius after getting so rich inventing the internet.
